Roundup: MOT reaches Senior finals; Smyrna-Clayton hosting Junior title game

MOT posted a 17-7 win over Camden-Wyoming on Friday night to reach the District I finals in Senior League baseball.

Camden-Wyoming (1-1) will host Dover (3-1) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the losers’ bracket finals.

The winner then faces MOT (3-0) on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the district championship game at Camden-Wyoming.

On Friday, Jackson Honeycutt went 5-for-5 to pace MOT. The Middletown-area squad scored five runs in the first inning, including two on a double by Chase Blythe (2-for-2, 4 RBI).

Ephraim Starkey and William Taylor added two hits apiece for MOT.

Logan Simmons had a two-run single in a seven-run third inning for Camden-Wyoming. Connor Heritage, Dennis Wilson and Makai Parker each collected two hits.

Dover 10, Milford 8: Dover won its second-straight elimination game on Friday night.

Dover (3-1), which plays at Camden-Wyoming at 7 p.m. on Saturday, scored all 10 of its runs in the first three innings. Reliever Patrick Devine finished out the game for Dover.

Reliever Ian Coker closed out the game for Milford.

Junior League

MOT 4, Camden-Wyoming 3: The Middletown team reached the District I finals with the one-run victory on Friday.

MOT (1-1) will play at Smyrna-Clayton (2-0) in the district championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m.
