Dover High tallied seven first-half goals en route to an 8-0 victory over Seaford in Henlopen Conference field hockey on Wednesday afternoon.

Kristen Adkins (1 assist) scored four goals for the Senators (3-3 in conference, 3-4 overall), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Ally Manifold (1 assist), Mira Prisco, Lindsey Wong and Ashley Manifold added Dover’s other goals.

Yeliz Kurt made 32 saves for the Blue Jays.

Del. Military 3, St. Thomas More 2: Nicole Rainford scored the first and last goals of the game for the Ravens.

Goalie Ryan Anderson made 17 saves for St. Thomas More. The Seahawks held edges of 20-5 in shots and 6-3 in penalty corners.

Volleyball

Delmarva Christian 3, Worcester Prep, Md. 0: The Royals won the nonconference match by scores of 25-18, 25-5, 25-13.

Leading Delmarva Christian were Camryn Thompson (6 kills, 9 aces) and Camryna Breasure and Taylor Tucker, who had four kills apiece.

Boys’ soccer

Worcester Prep, Md. 2, Delmarva Christian 0: Worcester tallied one goal in each half in posting the victory.

College soccer

MEN, Wesley 3, Marymount 2: Will Mileski, the Wolverines’ top returning scorer from a year ago, netted his first goal of the season in the 93rd minute to lift Wesley to the overtime victory.

Chris Bramble beat a defender and took off down the left flank. He centered the ball to a seemingly empty box until Mileski streaked in from the backside and directed the ball to the side netting for the game-winner.

Sean Bucior and Avery Brice netted the Wolverines’ first-half goals while Patrick Schlosser and Christopher McPoyle each picked up assists. Goalie Tanner Yaw earned his first collegiate victory by making three saves.

Delaware 2, Pennsylvania 2: Senior Guillermo Delgado registered two goals but it wasn’t enough as the Blue Hens (8-3-1) and Quakers tied.

Delgado has now scored 45 career goals and is just two behind Mike Biggs’ school record of 47 set from 1968-70. The three-time All-American is currently the NCAA’s active career leader with 107 points and 45 goals.

WOMEN, Marymount 3, Wesley 2: The Saints rallied for the Capital Athletic Conference victory.

Janiah Moore (Caesar Rodney) notched a goal and an assist while Aleya Cummings (Caesar Rodney) tallied her 13th goal of the season, tying Moore’s high-water mark from last year. Sam Brannigan made 13 saves in net for the Wolverines (4-5-1).

Wesley got on the board first, scoring in the 29th minute of the game. Cummings drew a foul outside the box and earned a free kick.

The freshman served a ball on the ground into the six-yard line where Moore collected and quickly finished to put Wesley ahead 1-0.

Trailing 2-1 in the 78th minute, Marymount scored twice in a span of just 1:17 to pull out the win.

College volleyball

Christopher Newport 3, Wesley 0: The 13th-ranked Captains registered a 25-8, 25-16, 25-21 victory over the Wolverines.

Tionne Graves-Brown led Wesley (9-10) with six kills and seven digs while Beth Schlecker dished off six assists and Lindsay Burg passed out five.

College football

Ex-Hornet Taylor up for Hall: Former Delaware State and NFL star John Taylor is among 25 finalists for induction into the Black College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017.

The list of 20 players and five coaches was selected from a field of over 175 nominees by a 13-member selection committee of prominent journalists, commentators, historians, former NFL general managers and football executives.

The year’s inductees will be announced on Oct. 26 and honored during the Black College Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Feb. 25, 2017 in Atlanta, Ga.

Taylor was a star wide receiver and kick returner for the Hornets from 1982-to-1985.

College golf

UD’s Klotz honored: Delaware freshman Ariane Klotz was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week.

Klotz carded a seven-over par 74-75-74-223 on the par-72, 6,100-yard Springdale Golf Club course over the weekend to tie for 10th place at the Princeton Invitational. She helped lead the Blue Hens to an eighth place team finish at the tournament.
