Dover High’s Garrett Lawson pitched five scoreless innings as the Senators shutout Wilmington Charter 10-0 in a nonconference baseball game on Friday afternoon.

Dakota Graham went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and Kendall Small had three RBI to pace the Dover offense. Jordan Hutchins, Tyler Rosello, Aaron Jenkins, Tevin Thomas and Triston Harris each had RBI base hits for the Senators.

Jared Rowley pitched the sixth inning to complete the shutout before the game was called due to the 10-run rule when Dover scored once in the bottom of the sixth.

Cape Henlopen 7, St. Georges 3: David Kwan was 3-for-4 and knocked in three to lead Cape in the nonconference win.

Kai Vitella was 2-for-3 and Hunter Engel added a big double in the 6th. Alec McCoy came in and threw 4 1/3 innings of two-hit baseball to get the victory.

Sussex Tech 4, Lake Forest 2: The Ravens were led offensively by Trent Hearn and Cole Collins who were 2-for-3 and 1-for-2 respectively.

The Spartans were led by Logan Simpson who was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ryan Swingle pitched a complete game for the Ravens, allowing seven hits striking out three.

St. Mark’s 5, Seaford 0: The Blue Jays only managed three hits off Spartan starter Sean Gilardi in the nonconference defeat.

Girls’ soccer

Smyrna 8, Seaford 0: Stacey Staley and Casey Bell had three goals each while Laurel Hossler and Samantha Greim also scored.

Cape Henlopen 3, Woodbridge 0: Brayden Fannin’s hat trick lifted the Vikings to the victory.

Delmar 12, Red Lion Christian 1: The Wildcats cruised in the nonconference win on Friday as Lauren Spicer had four goals and Monyae Alexander scored three.

Softball

Caesar Rodney 6, Smyrna 2: The Riders won the Henlopen Conference matchup on the road.

Laurel 9, Sussex Central 0: Regan Green struck out 20 of the 21 batters she faced in the Bulldog victory.

Green and Sara Jo Whaley each hit a home run for Laurel.

BOYS, Dover 8, Delmar 2: The Senators won at home late Friday night.

Sussex Tech 20, St. Thomas More 3: Nate Quillin scored six times while Matt Tull and Jason Whaley had four goals apiece.

GIRLS, Sussex Tech 19, St. Thomas More 3: Torrie Huk led the Ravens with five goals as Victoria Lockwood chipped in four.

College baseball

UNC Wilmington 4, Delaware 3: The Seahawks scored two runs in the ninth to win the CAA contest.

Diaz Nardo, a Cape Henlopen High product, led the UD offense with one hit and one RBI.

College lacrosse

WOMEN, James Madison 10, Delaware 7: The Blue Hens fell in the first round of the CAA Tournament to the No. 2 seeded Dukes.

James Madison will play No. 4 Towson in the championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Delaware Stadium. Shannon Hawley led Delaware Friday with two goals.

MEN, Eight DelTech players honored: Eight Delaware Tech Terry Campus men’s lacrosse players were selected to NJCAA Region XIX 2015 All-Region teams, capping a tremendous season for the program. The Hawks finished 10-6 overall, attained their first ever national ranking, won the league’s regular season title and advanced to the league’s championship game.

First-Team All-Region XIX honors were bestowed upon Alexander Linder (midfield), Cory Melvin (attack), Colin Rhodes (defense) and Charles Yeager (goalie). Rhodes was also a first-team honoree in 2014, while Melvin was a second-team selection that year.

Second-Team All-Region XIX accolades were presented to Anthony Cardile (midfield), Hunter Coho (midfield), Chase Evans (defense) and Michael Negrete (midfield).
