Delaware Military posted a 37-7 victory over Polytech High in a nonconference football game on Friday night.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Seahawks (5-1).

The Panthers, who were celebrating homecoming, fall to 1-5 after losing their third straight game.

Sussex Central 42, Caesar Rodney 0: The Golden Knights bounced back from a tough loss a week ago to blank the Riders in a Henlopen North contest.

Central is now 2-1 in the North, 4-2 overall after posting its second shutout win of the season.

The Riders dropped to 0-2, 0-6.

Laurel 21, Lake Forest 12: The Bulldogs snapped a two-game losing streak with the Henlopen South victory.

Mike Handy ran for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Laurel (1-2 South, 3-3 overall).

The Spartans fell to 0-3, 0-6.

Woodbridge 54, Seaford 0: The Raiders (6-0) remained unbeaten by registering their third straight shutout and fourth of the season.

Volleyball

St. Thomas More 3, Sussex Tech 0: St. Thomas More (10-0) stayed undefeated with the 25-7, 25-12, 27-25 victory on Friday.

Madison Murrian and Jessica Crawford led St. Thomas More with eight digs apiece while Gillian Crawford had 32 assists and Sara Reeves contributed five aces.

Sussex Academy 3, Seaford 0: The Seahawks won the match by scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-9.

Bailey Hesson had 12 kills, nine aces, eight digs and 10 assists for Sussex Academy Searra Pollitt adding six kills, two aces and 10 assists.

College volleyball

Delaware 3, William & Mary 0: The Blue Hens took control in the opening set and never looked back as they posted a three-set victory.

Delaware, which improved to 7-13 overall and 1-6 in the Colonial Athletic Association, captured the match by set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-18. The Tribe saw its two-match winning streak snapped while falling to 8-12 overall and 2-5 in league play.

Autumn Jenkins tied her season-high by drilling 14 kills for the Blue Hens, while Alexa Swann added a season-best 13 kills against just one error to hit .500 for the match. Maria Bellinger chipped in with 11 kills for Delaware, which hit .225 on the night while holding the Tribe to a .156 percentage.

UMES 3, Delaware State 0: The Hornets put up a tough fight in the second set but came up short in a 3-0 loss to Maryland-Eastern Shore in a MEAC match.

The scores were 25-8, 28-26 and 25-14.

Rachel Kayongo led all players with 16 kills, while teammate Lucia Babic had eight for UMES. Ivana Blazevic had a double-double for the Hawks, collecting 32 assists and 11 digs.

Sabina Szmajduch topped the Hornets with eight kills, while Kalena Wiggins added six. Morgan Tennent had a team-high 20 assists and Aaliyah McBean tallied 13 digs for DSU.

College field hockey

Christopher Newport 4, Wesley 0: Goalie Makenzie McIntyre made a career-high 16 saves for the Wolverines (4-12) had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Morgan Seymour (Smyrna) added to her nation-leading defensive saves total with two, bringing her to 18 on the season. Wesley was held without a shot through the contest, but still kept the score even through the first half in large part to McIntyre’s goalkeeping.

WNBA

Delle Donne named all-WNBA: Chicago Sky forward Elena Delle Donne, the former Delaware basketball star, was selected to the All-WNBA first team, the WNBA announced on Friday.

Delle Donne makes her second consecutive appearance on the All-WNBA first team after finishing second in the WNBA in scoring (21.46 ppg) and free throw percentage (93.5). She also averaged 7.0 rebounds, the second best mark of her career, to go with a career-best 1.9 assists. Delle Donne earned 27 first-team votes and 162 points.
