Sixth-seeded Caravel overcame a seven-point deficit to down No. 11 Woodbridge, 33-27, in the second round of the DIAA girls’ basketball state tournament on Thursday night.

The Henlopen Conference Southern Division champion Raiders held a 17-10 advantage at intermission.

Senior Altia Anderson scored a team-high 13 points for Woodbridge (15-8) with Yasmin Hill adding 10, including a pair of three-pointers.

The Buccaneers (15-6) will face third-seeded Sanford in Saturday’s quarterfinals at the Carpenter Center at 2 p.m.

Ursuline 70, Sussex Tech 30: The top-seeded Raiders built a 41-12 halftime lead before ousting the No. 17 Ravens.

Rukiya Davis had eight points with Heaven Carter adding seven for Sussex Tech (12-10).

Ursuline (16-5) will play No. 8 Hodgson in Saturday’s quarterfinals at 6:30 p.m.

Sanford 65, Milford 25: The third-seeded Warriors owned a 56-19 lead after three quarters in eliminating the No. 14 Buccaneers.

Jameshia Baker had 10 points, with a pair of threes, for Milford (15-7).

Hodgson 50, Sussex Central 40: The eighth-seeded Silver Eagles ousted the No. 9 Golden Knights in a second-round game on Thursday.

Henlopen Conference champion Central finishes the season at 17-6.

College basketball

Two Hen men make all-CAA: Delaware men’s basketball sophomore guard Kory Holden was named second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association while senior forward Marvin King-Davis earned third-team honors on Thursday night.

Holden has appeared in all 29 games this season while starting 26 for the Blue Hens, leading the team and ranking fourth in the league with a 17.3 scoring average. He has reached double figures in all but five contests, and has surpassed the 20-point mark 11 times.

Holden, who ranks third in the CAA with 36.2 minutes played, fifth with a 38.6 three-point percentage and fifth with 4.3 assists, scored a career-high 35 points at Boston College and added 33 at Towson. An All-Rookie Team selection last year, he currently ranks 45th in school history with 862 career points.

King-Davis is the only Blue Hen to start all 29 regular-season games this year, leading the team and ranking second in the CAA with 9.0 rebounds per game. He ranks second on the squad and ninth in the conference by averaging 14.8 points per outing.

He scored a season-high 29 points against UNCW, and has reached the 20-point mark seven times on the year.

Blue Hen senior guard Sean Locke, who will graduate in the spring with a degree in sport management, was named to the CAA All-Academic team.

Delaware finished the regular season with a 7-22 record, and the Hens will be the No. 10 seed in the CAA Tournament with a 2-16 league mark. UD will take on seventh-seeded Charleston in the tournament’s first round today at 8:30 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.
