Cape Henlopen High scored three times in the second half to break a halftime tie and earn a 4-1 field hockey victory over Padua Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Annie Judge netted the game-winner before Lindsay Monigle and Chloe Schaeffer added insurance goals. Cameron Smith had a first-half goal for the Vikings.

Boys’ soccer

Sussex Central 3, Delmarva Christian 1: The Golden Knights rallied from a goal down to pull out the nonconference victory.

Yordan Morales provided a pair of goals for Sussex Central and Christian Garcia had the other tally.

Noah Walton netted a goal in the first half for Delmarva Christian.

Cape Henlopen 3, Worcester Prep, Md. 0: Three second-half goals carried the Vikings to win over an out of state opponent.

Ulysis Slagle, Eric Velasquez-Santizo and Cesar Lares-Carrillo each scored for Cape Henlopen.

Volleyball

Delmarva Christian 3, Sussex Central 0: The Royals won 25-18, 25-15, 25-13 to earn their eighth-straight win to begin the season.

Gabrielle Book paced the Royals with a match-high eight kills.

College soccer

MEN, Christopher Newport 8, Wesley 0: Goalkeepers Kyle Springsteen and Jake Price would split halves and combined for 10 saves in net as the Wolverines fell in a road CAC matchup.

WOMEN, Christopher Newport 11, Wesley 0: The Wolverines dropped a contest to the No 5-ranked team in the country.

Aleya Cummings tallied Wesley’s lone shot in the second half when she battled the CNU defender outside the box and fired a shot wide of the goal. Goalkeeper Amanda Deputy made 18 saves.

College volleyball

Southern Virginia 3, Wesley 1: The Wolverines stumbled in four sets (22-25, 28-26. 14-25, 13-25).

Tionne Graves-Brown notched a kill-dig double-double for the Wolverines. She tallied 23 digs and 10 kills for the Wolverines. Graves-Brown also added two blocks and a service ace.

Jessica Tynes chipped in with 10 digs, seven kills and two service aces. Nadia Hopkins recorded five kills, three block assists and a solo block. Mary Getty registered three block assists while Courtney Olson collected two block assists. Tania Rounds had two solo blocks for the Wolverines.

College golf

UD women fifth at Princeton: The Blue Hens fired rounds of 315 and 305 for fifth place at the Princeton Invitational after day one, finishing the day with a 620 total. Georgetown leads the field with a 609 score, while Harvard is second at 613 and Rollins College is third at 616.

UD sophomore Ariane Klotz carded a six over par 78-72-150 on the par 72, 6,100-yard Springdale Golf Course, ending the day tied for fifth place.
