Cape Henlopen High won five matches by decision to edge Sussex Central, 33-28, in Henlopen Northern Division wrestling on Wednesday night.

A 2-0 decision by Zackery Flowers (285 pounds) gave the Vikings a 33-16 advantage before the Golden Knights won the final two individual matches by forfeit.

Maxwell Norquest (132) and Mark Knestaut (160) both added pins for Cape (2-0 North, 4-0 overall), which avenged a six-point loss to Central a year ago.

John Morris (220) had the lone pin for Central.

Milford 81, Seaford 0: The Buccaneers collected eight pins in the Henlopen South victory.

The list of Milford wrestlers winning by fall included Robbie Rosser (113), Jace Darling (120), Jordan Passwaters (126), Michael Edwards (132), Khiry Hovington (160), Kaje Reynolds (170), Dominyc Hovington (220) and Bryon Wynes (285).

Woodbridge 54, Delmar 21: The Raiders ended the match with three straight pins to put away the Henlopen South victory.

Taeshaun Jackson (152) and Jordan James (160) both posted falls in less than a minute before Derrick Atwood (170) finished it off with a first-period pin. Michael Veasey (182), Leon Mann (195), Jerome Cannon (113), Gavin Manning (120) and Enrique Ramos (132) also won by fall for Woodbridge,

Nathaniel Gaines (285) had the Wildcats’ lone pin.

Indian River 54, Laurel 14: Arturo Mora-Salas (160) had a 49-second pin for the Indians’ quickest fall in their South win.

Jared Arlett (138) added a 56-second pin for IR with William Rayne (106), Reshawn Turner (152), Zeke Marcozzi (182) and Zachary Shultz (220) also winning by fall.

Isaiah Fosque (126) had a 32-second pin for the Bulldogs, Dalton Perdue (170) had a 43-second fall with Gabriel Degraffinreed (145) adding a first-period fall.

Boys’ basketball

Caesar Rodney 73, Sussex Tech 70: Davione Robinson’s 16 points paced the Riders in a Henlopen North contest played on Tuesday night.

Timothy Spence scored 15 points for CR while Jaquan Hooks and Kairi Buie added 12 points apiece.

Girls’ basketball

Lake Forest 64, Seaford 28: Mya Maddox led the Spartans with 31 points in a game played over the holiday break.

Lake Forest got out to a 20-5 advantage in the first quarter and ended the game on a 21-2 run.

College basketball

MEN, Christopher Newport 71, Wesley 62: A strong first half by the Christopher Newport helped down the Wolverines in the Capital Athletic Conference matchup.

Brian Cameron led the way for the Wolverines (3-2 CAC, 5-7 overall), netting a game-high 25 points, while going a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range. Jordan Johnson chipped in eight points, while J.W Lawson and Rasahn Brinkley each added six points. Brinkley also added a game-high 11 rebounds.

Turnovers plagued the Wolverines as the they gave the ball the to the Captains 18 times during the duration of the game. The Captains turned the ball over 10 times.

WOMEN, Christopher Newport 70, Wesley 51: The Wolverines were on top early but eventually fell to Christopher Newport, who is ranked No. 7 in the country.

The score was tied at the end of the first quarter but the Captains used a 15-7 second-quarter run to take a lead into halftime. They pulled away even more in the third with a 22-11 run.

Wesley (1-4 CAC, 5-7) was led by Alexus Stroud’s 14 points. Fellow Smyrna High product Brionna Johnson grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
