WYOMING – Rose Chatto ,recently of Pinnacle Rehabilitation Center, Smyrna died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 after a ten year struggle with Alzheimer's She was born on Sept. 16, 1925 in Wyoming, Del., daughter of the late Pearl (Scull) and Carl Chatto. Rose was a Caesar Rodney graduate Class of 1943 and graduated from Beacom College, Wilmington. She worked for the Caesar Rodney School District for 30 years as the secretary to the superintendent, Dr. Niel F. Postlethwait. She retired in the early 1990's. Rose was definitely a patriot and supporter of the Caesar Rodney Blue and Gold. She had a love for music and enjoyed singing, dancing and playing the piano. She was a former member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church where she was very dedicated to the choir. Rose will always be remembered for her quick sense of humor. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jessie Duncan. She leaves a host of classmates, friends and church members that she had collected over the years. A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wyoming United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 389, Camden, DE 19934.
