Mrs. Rosalyn Daley 'Rose' Parks, 84

TANGIER, VA - Mrs. Rosalyn Daley "Rose" Parks, wife of the late Carl Parks and a lifelong resident of Tangier, Va., passed away in her residence on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008. She was 84. Born on Dec. 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Gorden Daley and Eudella Crockett Daley. Mrs. Parks had worked in the cafeteria at Tangier Combined School, and was a member of the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. Due to circumstances, Rose raised her brother's children, whom survive her,Terry Daley, Gloria Bays, Mickey Daley, and Billie Lee Daley; a brother, James Daley, of Tangier; and many grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Reverend John Jones and Mr. Strickland Crockett officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock, Va. There will be a visitation at the church Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O.
