Ronald Davis, 63

DOVER - Ronald Davis of Dover passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 63.

Mr. Davis was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Oakland, Calif., son of the late Howard and Marjorie Morgan.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He then became a member of the reserves for several more years.

Mr. Davis worked at Kraft Foods for 33 years and retired in 2003.

He was the epitome of a volunteer. In 1978 he became a volunteer fireman for the Camden-Wyoming Fire Department and he was a lifetime member. This started a whole new family for Ron as he spent many hours with them. He was very devoted and rarely missed a call. In 1995 he gave up his gear and joined the fire police. He continued this until he was physically unable. In 2005 he was sworn in as vice president of Camden-Wyoming Fire Department for a year term.

Mr. Davis also devoted many years to the Camden-Wyoming Little League as a coach and umpire for Little League and Softball. He had been a coach for youth bowling for over 20 years. He started with his children and continued to help his foster kids and anyone else who needed help.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Davis; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Duane and Jennifer Davis of Felton and Steve Davis of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michele and Gus Berger of Dover and Dawn Morris of Camden; a brother, Lynn Morgan of California; a sister, Betty Morgan of California; 13 grandchildren; foster children, Javone and Bobby of Dover; many other foster children too numerous to mention; his dog, Charlie and cat, Patches.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover.

Remembrance services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Camden-Wyoming Fire Hall, P.O. Box 186 Camden, DE 19934.
