Robert W. 'Bobby' Cusick
BISHOPS HEAD - Robert W. "Bobby" Cusick, 74, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2007, at the Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.
He was born in Cambridge on May 30, 1932, and was a son of the late Edgar Charles and Grace Marie Gootee Cusick.
Mr. Cusick attended schools at Lakesville as well as in Cambridge, having graduating from Cambridge High School in 1951. On Sept. 20, 1957, he was married to the former Esther Jane Morris.
Mr. Cusick served in the U.S. Army from April 5, 1955, and was honorably discharged on March 29, 1957. While serving in the Army he had been stationed in Berlin, Germany.
He followed in his father's footsteps and worked as an artesian well driller for most of his life. He was a member of the Lakes & Straits Volunteer Fire Co. where he had served as a trustee.
Mr. Cusick enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with his family, and also enjoyed wildlife and animals. He had been in failing health for the past two months and had been a patient at Dorchester General Hospital since Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Jane Cusick of Bishops Head; one daughter, Teresa C. Flowers and her husband, Mark Flowers of Fishing Creek; two sons, R. Lynn Cusick and his companion, Kelly Condon of Cambridge and Greg M. Cusick and his wife, Millie Cusick of Vienna. He is also survived by a grandson, Dusty L. Flowers of Fishing Creek and three stepgrandchildren, Jerri Lynn Hughes, Wes Dukes of Vienna and Laura L. Condon. He is also survived by a brother, C. Maurice Cusick of Glen Burnie and two sisters, Helen M. Travers and Norma Lee Cusick, both of Cambridge, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Edgar A. Cusick, George Cusick, Woodrow Cusick, Clinton J. Cusick and Herbie E. Cusick.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Joe Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Beulah.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 on Tuesday evening at the Thomas Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cusick, Eugene Travers Jr., Mark Flowers, Gary Whitten, Richard Dawson and Charles Hayward. Honorary bearers will be Ray Thoman, Jim Adams, Dennis Cusick, David Cox, Henry Gootee and Tommy Gootee.
