Robert R. 'Kempie' Kemp, 67

FELTON - Robert R. "Kempie" Kemp, of Felton, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was 67. Mr. Kemp was born Nov. 17, 1941, the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth "Killen" Kemp. He worked as a service mechanic for George and Lynch for 35 years. Kempie, was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Morris, Tim and Wayne and also a sister Jenny. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy "Kersey" Kemp; three children and their spouses, Cindy and Eric Battin of Woodside, Robin and Donald Deputy, and Kim and William Lodge, both of Felton; six grandchildren, Jordan Schulties, Courtney Battin, Lauren Deputy, Hunter Battin, Maggie Lodge and Ryan Deputy; two sisters, Eleanor Hall and Debbie Baker; and five brothers, Frank, Walter, Eddie, Ernie and Doug. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Flowers may be sent or donations made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford DE 19963.
