MILFORD - Robert Lee Garner, 69, of Milford, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Milford Center in Milford. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, son of the late Albert Garner and Nancy Smiley Garner. Mr. Garner served in the US Army and was self-employed as a Locksmith in Florida. He also worked at Hickman Overhead Door, in Milford. He loved gardening and growing roses and attended Slaughter Neck United Methodist Church. Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his parents; and his step daughter, Sandy Walls. He is survived by his wife, Martha Walker Garner; four step children, Pat Stevens (who was his caregiver) and her husband Mike, Paul Walker and wife Phyllis, Tom Walker and wife Michele, and Kathy Eck and finance Wayne Dutton; also, a brother Bert in Arizona and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 12 p.m., in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a viewing. Interment will be Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
