Bringer, 83 Laurel - Robert K. 'Doc' Bringer of Laurel formerly of Rock Hall, Md. died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. Born on July 20, 1930 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Leo John and Matilda Ceria. Doc was enlisted in the United States Navy and retired in 1977 as Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman. On September 8, 1975, he married Katherine "Kitty" Bringer, who predeceased him in 2005. Doc was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, a lifetime member of Bass Masters (B.A.S.S.), and a member of National Fisherman. He loved fishing, hunting and traveling. He is survived by a daughter, Kay Thompson of Rock Hall, Md.; a son, Lacey Spencer, Jr. of Delmar, Del.; two brothers, Gordon A. Bringer of Chicago, Ill., and James E. Bringer of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren, Lacey Spencer, III and wife, Donna of Laurel, Del., Lance Spencer and wife, Phyllis, Lisa Tomaszemski and husband, Paul, Lori Riddle and husband, Steve, Kimberly Riggs Banning of Stevensville, Md., Ryan Fithian of Rock Hall, Md., eight great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Fithian, and a sister-in-law, Virginia Ann Bryden. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred White and a brother, Harry Bringer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rock Hall, Md. where relatives and friends may call two hours prior (11am to 1pm). Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association – Eastern Shore Chapter 213 West Main Street Salisbury, MD 21801.
