SEAFORD - Robert James Figgs, age 91, of Seaford, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. Born in Seaford, he was the son of the late Cora Mattie Allen and Robert Asbury Figgs. He was a bus driver for Trailways before retiring. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, Virgil Wilson Post 4961 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Nanticoke Post 6 American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Lankford Figgs; two daughters, Mattie Stevenson and her husband Keith of Houston, Texas, and Tana Figgs of Seaford; a granddaughter, Leah Dickerson; a great-grandson, Raylan Paul; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen D., W. Addison, and Wilson Figgs. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Ida Jane Blair and his twin sister Martha Lee Uhde. Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King Streets, Seaford, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963.
