Robert H. McCullough

HARRINGTON - Robert McCullough, passed away Oct. 4, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was a hard working man all of his life. Starting as far back as high school, he worked at Grants Automotive and Burtons in Milford learning mechanics. Shortly after high school, he worked at Kraft Foods for a time. He later acquired and was the owner operator of two service stations in Harrington, a BP Station and a tire shop. He also kept busy with rental houses, and also farming. Farming was in his blood, as he had farmed all of his life. At one point he even raised chickens for Perdue through his chicken houses. His last endeavor was for Farm Family Insurance where he was an agent for the past 25 years. He was an excellent salesman and could sell just about anything, and with his mechanical background, he could fix almost anything. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and spending time on his boat. He also loved to camp, ride motorcycles, and spend time in Florida. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated family man whole always put his family first. He was an excellent provider and enjoyed life and spending as much time with his family. He was a true people person and enjoyed everyone's company. His family was his pride and joy. He looked forward to family dinners at home and cooking on his grill. His chicken and ribs were the best around. He will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his father, William R. McCullough. He is Survived by his mother, June D. McCullough of Felton; loving wife, Tanis M. McCullough of Harrington; a son, Robert B. McCullough of Felton; daughters and spouses, Stephanie L. Fleming (Scott) of Harrington, Natalie P. Pardee (Eric) of Hartly, Jodie L. Moore (James) of Harrington; brother, William G. McCullough of Felton; grandchildren, Erin M. Tucker, Bret A. Fleming, Alexandra H. Fleming, Dean J. Fleming, Seth R. Fleming, Jared R. Pardee, Ashley L. Pardee, Zachary I. Pardee, Megan R. Pardee, Trevor J. McCullough, Haley M. Moore, Isabella R. McCullough; two great grandchildren, Tristan W. Tucker, Jackson O. Tucker. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation one hour prior to service.
