Robert E. Bush, 87

CLAYTON - Robert E. Bush, of Clayton, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87.

Robert was born on Dec. 15, 1920, in Goldsboro, Md., son of the late Mitchell and Myrtle (Conley) Bush.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Robert had worked as a service manager for Townsend Brothers, Kent County Motors and J.G. Smith Volkswagen.

He was a former member and past president of the Ruritan Club, former Cub Scout Leader and was instrumental in starting the Camden-Wyoming Little League.

Robert enjoyed working on cars and doing yardwork.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kathryn Bush; a son, Robert Bush and his wife Marcella of Florida; a son, Richard Bush of Wyoming; a daughter, Wanda Houdek and her husband Michael of Wyoming; a brother, Harry Bush of Middletown; a sister, June Hurz; seven grandchildren, Rob Bush, Marcy Trevino, Lis Bush, Eric Houdek, Melissa Piazza, Allison Houdek, and Jeremy Bush; three great-grandchildren, Abbey Bush, Madison Houdek and Bryce Piazza; and many family members and friends.

Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial with Navy honors will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
