On January 12, 2022 after a long battle with cancer Richard passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by his family.
A proud Pittsburg native and Steelers fan that made Hurlock his home since 1978, he served honorably as a SSGT in the USMC and with the USPS, retiring with almost 50 years of federal service.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Karen; son, Ron (Lindsay); daughter, Rachael (Bianca); stepsons, Jeff (Sheila) and Greg (Katie); grandchildren, Keeley, Oliver, Samuel, Lexi, Dylan, Nathan, Kelly, Jay, Joey, Katlyn, Kristen and Jon. He also leaves brothers, Michael (Carol) and Anthony, Sr. (Pauline); and sister, Marianne (Tim); seven nieces and nephews and six great grandchildren to cherish his memories.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mildred Dyda; and brother, Robert Dyda.
