CAMBRIDGE - Richard Daniel Riley, 35, of Cambridge, died Monday afternoon, June 20, 2011 at his home. Born on March 3, 1976, in Essex County, N.J., he was the son of Darius W. Riley Sr. and Janet Marie Wilson of Cambridge. "Richie," as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of Cambridge South Dorchester High School, Class of 1997. He had worked as an assembly worker for the Dorchester Developmental Unit in Cambridge. Richie was a member of the Beckwith United Methodist Church and Sunday School Class. He was well known for his outgoing personality and had truly never met a stranger. Richie loved horses, all animals and was especially fond of music. Surviving besides his parents, Darius and Janet Riley, are three brothers, Andrew P. Riley, Peter I. Riley and Dwight N. Riley, all of Cambridge; maternal grandmother, Katherine Wilson; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death was his brother, Darius W. "Bill" Riley Jr.; maternal grandfather, Edward Wilson; and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Riley. Richie was cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25th at Beckwith United Methodist Church. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Pam Bockart. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Beckwith UM Church Missions Fund, c/o Harold "Skip' Miller, 5730 Morris Neck Rd., Cambridge, MD 21613.
