SMYRNA - Richard A. Lambert, Sr., a great servant of God, went into the arms of his loving Savour Jesus Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at Christiana Medical Center, Wilmington. He was born on Aug. 7, 1945 in West Jefferson, N.C. to the late Preston and Blanche Mullis Lambert. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and pastor. He had served in the ministry for 43 years. He pastored the former Remnant Church in Wilmington, The Bread of Life Church in Dover, and most recently for 18 years, the Solid Rock Church in Hartly. He is preceded in death by his son, Larry Lambert in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Marie Lambert, of Smyrna; son who now Pastors the Solid Rock Church, Richard A. Jr. and his wife Lisa, of Dover; daughter, Deborah and her husband Rudy Potter, of Hartly; grandchildren, Danaya Lambert, Josh Barton, Ashley Potter, NiChelle Potter, Alanna Potter, Jena Melvin, Samara Potter, and Isaiah Potter; and great-grandson, Austin LaFace. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat. Jan., 4, 2014 at Solid Rock Church, 807 Hazlettville Road, Hartly, DE. A private service and burial will be held with family members. The family request that memorial contributions be given to Solid Rock Church, 807 Hazlettville Road, Hartly, DE 19953.
