Rev. Marshall Leslie Pruitt

Rev. Marshall Leslie Pruitt, 86 TANGIER, Va. - The Reverend Marshall Leslie Pruitt, 86, husband of Iris Marie Pruitt and a resident of Tangier, Va., passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield, Md. Born on Jan. 7, 1924, Rev. Pruitt was the son of the late Charles Dewey Pruitt and Hilda Marshall Pruitt. He was a former waterman and retired minister. He was a member of the New Testament Church and was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Other than his wife, survivors include his children, Glenn E. Pruitt and wife Faye of Poquoson, Va., Miriam R. Singer and husband Dwight of Nigeria, Africa, and Naomi Leslie Nasshan of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Harris Wilkerson of Colonial Beach, Va.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Altmose. Funeral services were conducted from the New Testament Church on Tangier at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Interment followed at the Sunnyridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Crisfield, Md. There was a visitation at the New Testament Church on Friday, March 19, 2010. Memorial donations may be made to the New Testament Church Missions Fund, C/O Mr. Danny McCready, P.O. Box 3, Tangier, VA 23440.
