The Rev. Charles H.Sorrells, 81

SEAFORD - The Rev. Charles H. Sorrells of Seaford Center-Genesis HealthCare died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, of health complications. He was 81.

The Rev. Sorrells was born March 24, 1926, in Winder, Ga., to the late Charlie R. and Martha L. (Sturdivant) Sorrells.

He was a pastor, evangelist, song evangelist and minister of song, playing the guitar and singing.

The Rev. Sorrells and his late wife, Beatrice E. Sorrells, traveled the East Coast to attend various revival services of different denominations and pastored many churches in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

His survivors include four sons, Lawrence R. Sorrells and Wesley C. Sorrells, both of Bridgeville, Robert G. Sorrells of Ridgefield, Conn., and Thomas J. Sorrells of Wilmington; a sister, Lillian M. Willey of Milford; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a friend, Anna Mae Yurek of Seaford.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 Market St., Greenwood. A memorial service will follow at 2 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery.
