DOVER — A home and two vehicles were struck by gunfire in the Capitol Park neighborhood Monday, Delaware State Police said.

Authorities reported that, at approximately 7:22 p.m., troopers responded to the 100 block of South Governors Boulevard for a report of shots fired. Upon their arrival, multiple spent shell casings were found, spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

An investigation determined that the residence — occupied by a 33-year-old female, as well as two juveniles, ages 10 and 6 — had been struck by one round. In addition, two unoccupied vehicles in the area were struck by gunfire. No one was injured.

No suspect information or surveillance images were immediately available, Cpl. DeMalto said.

The Troop 3 Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating. Police ask witnesses or anyone with information to contact Detective J. Sydnor at 302-698-8540. Information may also be provided via DSP’s Facebook page or by contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or here.
