LEWES - James Harding, 70, of Rehoboth Beach, was arrested for aggravated menacing and terroristic threatening following an incident involving a firearm on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
At approximately 11:40 a.m., Delaware State Police said, troopers responded to the 33000 block of Clover Street for a report of a landlord-tenant dispute. The ensuing investigation determined that Mr. Harding and a family member were involved in a disagreement with the tenants of a residence at this location.
During the dispute, police alleged, Mr. Harding pointed a gun at a 39-year-old male. Mr. Harding also threatened to shoot a 34-year-old female and threatened bodily harm to a 55-year-old female, according to police.
No injuries were reported.
Troopers made contact with Mr. Harding in his vehicle at the residence, police said, and he was taken into custody without incident. A loaded Savage Arms Model 87D .22 caliber rifle was seen in plain view in his vehicle, according to authorities.
Mr. Harding was charged with aggravated menacing and terroristic threatening (two counts). He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
