REHOBOTH BEACH — Eleven days of thought-provoking, inspiring, and entertaining films are set for the 22nd annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival from Oct 31 – Nov 10, 2019. An assortment of feature films from 16 countries will take viewers to the mountains of Turkey to the countryside of France; the rural communities of Peru to the urban drama of Berlin; tales of romance in Australia to webs of intrigue in Romania and Georgia.
A unique variety of documentaries will open the door to different experiences with subjects such as competitive dog grooming; a restaurant that serves vegetarian food with a heaping helping of activism; a financially suffering rural town that flourishes with the opening of a major arts venue; and the unique world of taxidermy which creatively and artistically celebrates life.
The Maryland Film Festival curated two shorts programs for this year’s festival, Narrative Shorts and Character Study Shorts.
The multi-day event takes place at three venues, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater (Main Theater and JEMS Theater), the Unitarian Universalists Southern Delaware, and the Cape Henlopen High School.
Visit rehobothfilm.com to view the online program and get all the information you need about films, screening schedules, or how to purchase tickets. Pick up a program at local libraries, the Cinema Art Theater, and hotels throughout the area. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities during this event as well. To schedule your shift or for more information, please call the RBFS Main Office, 645-9095.
The mission of the RBFS is promoting cinematic arts and providing education and cultural enrichment for our community. Having met all the requirements for best practices in nonprofit management, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society is accredited by the Standards for Excellence Institute. The Film Society is funded, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
