Reginald D. "Reggie" Karnes Sr., 76

MARYDEL, Md. - Reginald D. "Reggie" Karnes Sr. of Marydel died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 76.

He was born June 30, 1931, in Springton, W.Va., son of the late Oswald and Claudie (Holston) Karnes.

Mr. Karnes served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He worked as a foreman for 25 years for the Leola Supply Lumber Co.

Mr. Karnes was an avid baseball and football fan.

He enjoyed his family and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Karnes.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Karnes; three children, Dr. Patricia Karnes-Amzibel and her husband Ed of Felton, Del., Reginald D. Karnes Jr. and his wife Marsha of Marydel, and Vicki Macklin and her husband Chris of Hartly, Del.; a brother, Matthew Karnes of Upper Marlboro; four sisters, Geraldine Ramsey of Spanishburg, W.Va., Velma Ramsey of Topeka, Kan., Leona Goins of Bristol, Tenn., and Kathleen Borders of Hawthorne, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jacob Karnes, Anthony Amzibel, Kayla Karnes, Nikolas Karnes and Jana Karnes; and his extended family, Michael Karnes, Anna Marie Gibson, Linda Hoffman and Debbie Chewning, all of Virginia.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
