Raymond Fleming

FREDERICA - Raymond Fleming formerly of Harrington, passed away on Tues., Apr. 14, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 12, 1930 in Goldsboro, Md. to the late Dillon B. and Rose Young Fleming. Raymond was a 1947 graduate of Greensboro High School. He enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and traveling. He was the oldest living member of the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company and their last surviving original member. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings, Harvey Fleming, Ralph Fleming, Glen Dillion Fleming and Bernice Laramore. He is survived by his son, Matthew Fleming, with whom he resided, of Frederica; daughters, Sophie Fleming Dear of Dover, Mary Fleming Fitzcharles of Lincoln, Gail Benton of Dover and Nancy Lord of Waverly, Va.; a special friend, Nancy Otis of Dover; a sister, Mary Bishop of Cheswold; his former wife, Nancy Morgan; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Fleming will be held on Sat., Apr. 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Md. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, MD following the service.
