Raelaine Sheila Morris Swanner

SMYRNA - Raelaine Sheila Morris Swanner, a long-time resident of the Smyrna area, died on April 21, 2016 peacefully at home in her daughter's house in New Hope Pennsylvania. She was born on March 3, 1927 in Forty Fort, Pa., to Robert and Beatrice (Flaherty) Morris. Raelaine also grew up in Philadelphia where she met the love of her life, Billy Wayne Swanner, in 1944. Raelaine and Billy were married in 1945. Raelaine worked as a sales associate at Strawbridge & Clothier, where she had great enthusiasm for her job. Raelaine was an avid quilter and seamstress, belonging to multiple guilds throughout her life. She also enjoyed cooking and provided vast variety of delicious food to everyone she loved. She is survived by four children, Karen Roberts (Donald), Donald Swanner (Tuyet), Sheila Swanner-Skillens (Bernard), and Eric Swanner (Cheryl). Raelaine was also a loving grandmother and great grandmother to eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m., Monday May 9, 2016 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Ransom Lane and South St., Smyrna. A luncheon will follow and the location will be announced. Interment will be 2 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.matthewsbryson.com.
