R. Wallace Morris, 80 CAMBRIDGE - R. Wallace Morris, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, in Mallard Bay Care Center. He was 80. He was born at Toddville on August 23, 1929, and was a son of the late Vernon L. Morris Sr. and Mydra Meredith Morris. He attended schools in South Dorchester. On September 10, 1948, he was married to the former Mary Ellen Meredith. Mr. Morris worked on the water most of his life. He was one of the first crab potters in the area. He had attended Zion United Methodist Church at Toddville. Mr. Morris was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. Besides his parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna M. Marshall; a sister, Margaret Mills; and a brother, Meredith Morris. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Morris of Cambridge; a son, Vincent W. Morris and wife, Tina of Fenwick Island; a granddaughter, Davina Littleton; two brothers, Ronald Morris and wife, Verne of Woolford and Vernon L. Morris Jr. and wife, Genevieve of Church Creek; two sisters, Faye Meyer and husband, Leonard of Cambridge and Brenda Douglas and husband, David of Parsonsburg; and many nieces, nephews and several cousins. A funeral service was 1 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Pastor David Douglas officiated. Burial was private. Family received friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733.
