HARRINGTON -- Queenie Virginia Hill Coleman, of Harrington, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 83. As the wife of the late Rev. Ellsworth Coleman, who passed away May 16, 2007, after 63 years of Holy Matrimony, she will be fondly remembered as the first lady to several AME churches in lower Delaware, including Dickerson Chapel in Millsboro, Mt. Zion in Ellendale, and Graham in Greenwood. She was a loving mother to Ivan Coleman, Bedelia (Frank) Commordore, Cleo (Ernest) Young, Wanda (Glen) Scanes , and Vera Hunter; devoted sister to, William (Minnie) Hill, Wyonna Deputy, Areletha Roberson, and Robin Wells; mother-in-law to, Irma Coleman; sister-in-law to, Virginia and Vandora Coleman; grandmother of nine; great-grandmother of eight; Godmother to, Stephen and Andrew Hill and Virginia Lee Harris; best friend to, Blanche Gaddis and Grace Jackson; and she is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be noon today at St. Paul AME Church in Harrington. Burial will be in Williamsville Cemetery in Williamsville. Arrangements by Deborah E. Harris-Nock Funeral Services, Greenwood.
