LAUREL — The fishing pier at Records Pond has been closed, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced Thursday.
The pier has been shut down due to warping of its decking. The material will be replaced in conjunction with the new public boat ramp project being managed by the Division of Fish & Wildlife. Construction is expected to start in summer 2023.
The pier will remain closed until completion of the boat ramp.
Fishing along the shore and along the Records Pond parking lot is permitted. The tidal fishing pier below the pond’s dam also remains open.
