DOVER — Delaware Pride will celebrate 25 years Saturday with a parade and festival.

The day will kick off with a Pride Parade at 9 a.m. The parade will start at Jerusalem Way and Loockerman Street. It will go down Loockerman, turn onto Legislative Avenue and end on Water Street. The event is intended as a time of celebration and visibility for the LGBTA community and those who support them.

Downtown businesses are invited to support in whatever way they would like — whether that is by hanging a rainbow flag in the window or hosting a special Pride sale or event.

This year’s annual Pride Festival is set for Legislative Mall in Dover from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is free. The festival is a family-friendly event and people of all ages and sexual orientations are welcome. The event will feature over 150 vendors, two entertainment stages, a kids’ zone and a beer garden.

The main stage emcee will be Austin Armacost. Mr. Armacost rose to fame in 2010 by becoming a cast member in the Logo reality television series “The A-List: New York,” which followed the lives of six gay and bisexual men in New York City.

The drag stage emcee will be popular local drag queen Magnolia Applebottom.

Confirmed entertainment on the main stage includes Pandora Boxx from “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Pepper MaShay, Manhattan Prairie Dogs, Aunt Mary Pat DiSabatino, Chris Jehnert, Robert Bannon, Shadina, J-Line, the Rainbow Chorale of Delaware, Jamie LeRose and Skylar Love.

Confirmed entertainment on the drag stage includes 2014 Delaware Pride Newcomer Cherry St. Cartier, 2012 Delaware Pride Queen Ashley Lynn, 2021 Miss Western States America Tatiyanna Voche’, Danielle Revlon, Tina Montgomery, Lady Mahagony, Miss Troy, Tamia Mykles, Deception Daae, Monroe, Fefe LaDada, Xander Valentine, Diamond Doll, Brenda LaMour, Sasha DuBoyz, Der’eon, Asia Monroe and Aura DuBoyz.

The Delaware Pride Festival is the single largest LGBTA gathering in Delaware, and it helps give the community exposure and recognition. Their goal is to promote platforms for expressing diversity and creating a more visible and united LGBTA community.
