DOVER - City police are investigating a Monday night armed robbery in the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino parking lot, spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The Dover Police Department said a 39-year-old man was exiting the casino and about to enter his vehicle when a armed male with a black handgun approached and demanded money.

The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled in a black four-door sedan, police said.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot-7 to 5-9 white male with dark hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the Dover PD at 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.
