Police ID victims in fatal Roth Bridge collision

SAINT GEORGES - Delaware State Police have identified the victims who died in a fatal vehicle collision on the Roth Bridge as Michael Ferris, 56, of Middletown, and his daughter Alexis Ferris, 19, of Wilmington.

Police said the victims were traveling in a Toyota Sequoia vehicle that struck a Mack tractor trailer that had stopped in the center lane of the bridge at approximately 10:23 p.m. Police said the vehicle caught fire and the occupants were found deceased inside.

The 31-year-old operator of the tractor trailer was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed this collision to please contact Sergeant J.
