DOVER — Police on Thursday identified Jorge Valladares, 27, of Dover, as the man found dead in the St. Jones River on Saturday.
Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said the cause of death is still under investigation, but it does not appear to be the result of foul play at this time.
Officers were called to the area of the river behind Capitol Green for a report of a body being found there by a group of kayakers.
With the assistance of the Dover Fire Department, the badly decomposed body was removed from the water, Sgt. Hoffman said.
