Plea deal reached in burglary case

DOVER - A Dover man was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended for probation,  Tuesday morning after a series of alleged burglaries in multiple jurisdictions two years ago.

Anthony Hogan was serving time in New Jersey and extradited to Delaware 30 days ago to face a third-degree burglary charge as part of several pending counts against him. He pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Noel Eason Primos, who suspended the prison sentence for a year of Level II probation.

All pending warrants were dismissed.

Mr. Hogan, 38 when arrested in June 2017, said he knowingly and voluntarily took the plea and waived speedy trial rights after consulting with attorney Andre’ M. Beauregard. Deputy Attorney General Ken Haltom prosecuted the case for the state.

Hogan’s effective sentencing date was Dec. 28, 2018 as he spent 30 days in a Delaware jail after extradition from New Jersey.

According to police, Hogan was wanted by Delaware State Police and the Dover, Harrington, Smyrna and Middletown Police. He was arrested by New Jersey State Police on June 19.

Judge Primos ordered the defendant to pay court costs and costs of prosecution.
