Bewteen the holiday weekend and the approaching storm, the high school football regular season will end a little earlier than expected.

All but two of the games involving downstate teams are now slated to be played on Thursday night.

That means teams that are on the DIAA state tournament bubble will have a little longer wait until the tourney brackets are determined on Sunday.

With that in mind, here’s our predictions for this weekend’s local high school and college games.

Andy Walter, Delaware State News: 93-31
Tim Mastro, Delaware State News: 97-27
Glenn Frazer, 302 Sports: 99-25

Thursday’s games
Lake Forest (7-2) at McKean (4-5), 6 p.m.
After winning its last two games by a combined 107-21, Lake looking for its third straight victory.
AW: Lake Forest, 38-13; TM: Lake Forest, 42-13; GF: Lake Forest, 34-17.
Early College (0-5, 0-9) at Indian River (3-2, 4-5), 6 p.m.
The Indians are hoping to finish the fall with a non-losing record for the second season in a row.
AW: Indian River, 43-6; TM: Indian River, 42-6; GF: Indian River, 38-6.
Seaford (6-3) at Dickinson (1-8), 6 p.m.
If they snap a two-game losing streak, Blue Jays will register their second consecutive 7-3 season.
AW: Seaford, 37-12; TM: Seaford, 28-6; GF: Seaford, 24-12.
Mt. Pleasant (3-5) at Milford (3-6), 7 p.m.
The Buccaneers would like to send their senior class off with one last victory this season.
AW: Milford, 22-12; TM: Mt. Pleasant, 20-17; GF: Mt. Pleasant, 17-14.
Christiana (1-8) at Polytech (2-7), 7 p.m.
The Panthers get the opportunity to pick up one more victory before closing the book on the season.
AW: Polytech, 37-6; TM: Polytech, 42-12; GF: Polytech, 20-13.
Caesar Rodney (0-3, 1-8) at Sussex Central (2-1, 7-2), 7:30 p.m.
Getting a second win would be a big task for CR, which lost twice to Central last year by a total of 77-6.
AW: Sussex Central, 42-7; TM: Sussex Central, 38-14; GF: Sussex Central, 21-10.
Howard (7-1) at Woodbridge (2-7), 7:30 p.m.
It’s been a tough season for the Blue Raiders and facing Howard probably won’t make it any easier.
AW: Howard, 41-14; TM: Howard, 36-12; GF: Howard, 28-16.
Sussex Tech (3-6) at Odessa (5-4), 7:30 p.m.
The Ducks should be a tough foe as the Ravens try to end their up-and-down season on a high note.
AW: Odessa, 24-19; TM: Odessa, 22-21; GF: Odessa, 14-13.
Friday’s games
Cape Henlopen (1-2, 4-5) at Smyrna (3-0, 8-1), 7 p.m.
Smyrna would like to head into the tourney on an 8-game winning streak while Cape wants to get to .500.
AW: Smyrna, 46-14; TM: Smyrna, 42-14; GF: Smyrna, 40-13.
Delmar (4-5) at Laurel (9-0), 7 p.m.
Nobody has been able to slow down the Bulldogs yet this season but the Wildcats will give it a try.
AW: Laurel, 49-7; TM: Laurel, 35-21; GF: Laurel, 28-20.
Saturday’s games
Conrad (3-6) at First State Military (3-6), 11 a.m.
The Bulldogs will be trying to avenge a 30-point loss to Conrad in last year’s season finale.
AW: Conrad, 18-7; TM: Conrad, 22-12; GF: Conrad, 17-14.
College
Richmond (5-1, 7-2) at Delaware (4-2, 7-2), 1 p.m.
The Hens face a formidable task in the Spiders as both teams are battling for an FCS playoff bid.
AW: Delaware, 38-34; TM: Delaware, 31-27; GF: Delaware, 27-21.
Morgan State (1-2, 3-6) at Delaware State (2-2, 5-4), 2 p.m.
Coming off last week’s big OT victory, the Hornets can now guarantee themselves a winning season.
AW: Delaware State, 24-17; TM: Morgan State, 27-17; GF: Delaware State, 24-17.
