As the local football season heads for the homestretch, there's plenty of interesting games on tap this weekend.

Here's our predictions for this weekend's local high school and college matchups.

Andy Walter, Delaware State News: 58-27

Tim Mastro, Delaware State News: 62-23

Ben Heck, Milford Chronicle: 58-27

Glenn Frazer, Delaware Radio 105.9: 57-28

Matt Pencek, WBOC-TV: 59-26

Today’s games. Games start at 7 p.m. unless noted.

Brandywine (4-3) at Caesar Rodney (4-3)

CR can match its combined victory total for the last three seasons with a 3rd straight win.

AW: CR, 28-14; TM: CR, 21-7; BH: CR, 21-17; GF: CR, 34-12; MP: CR, 24-17.

Polytech (2-1, 5-2) at Dover (0-3, 1-6)

Panthers out to get back on track in North while Dover just wants a win for homecoming.

AW: Dover, 31-28; TM: Polytech, 21-20; BH: Polytech, 24-7; GF: Polytech, 21-20; MP: Poly, 28-12.

Sussex Tech (1-2, 3-4) at Smyrna (4-0, 5-2)

Smyrna can wrap up its third straight North crown with a victory and a Polytech loss.

AW: Smyrna, 46-13; TM: Smyrna, 48-20; BH: Smyrna, 34-17; GF: Smyrna, 46-18; MP: Smyrna, 54-14.

Lake Forest (1-2, 2-5) at Seaford (1-3, 3-3)

The Spartans want to even their South record but Blue Jays are no pushover this season.      

AW: Lake, 18-15; TM: Lake, 28-13; BH: Lake, 27-16; GF: Lake, 24-16; MP: Seaford, 21-20.

Milford (3-0, 5-2) at Indian River (0-4, 1-6)

Buccaneers can’t get caught looking ahead to their season-ending South showdowns.

AW: Milford, 41-7; TM: Milford, 42-21; BH: Milford, 31-14; GF: Milford, 44-13; MP: Milford, 35-13.

St. Mark’s (5-2) at Woodbridge (6-1)

The Raiders face a nonconference challenge against a team with state tourney hopes.

AW: Wood, 27-10; TM: Wood, 31-24; BH: Wood, 34-21; GF: Wood, 21-17; MP: Wood, 28-21.

Delmar (3-0, 6-1) at Laurel (1-2, 3-4), 7:30 p.m.

The Wildcats are cruising along right now but know better than to overlook the Bulldogs.    

AW: Delmar, 35-14; TM: Delmar, 35-21; BH: Delmar, 28-16; GF: Delmar, 30-20; MP: Delmar, 42-13.

Saturday’s games

Cape Henlopen (0-3, 2-5) at Sussex Central (3-1, 6-1), 1 p.m.

The Knights know they need to keep winning to stay on track for a state tourney berth.        

AW: Central, 27-17; TM: Central, 35-14; BH: Central, 28-10; GF: Central, 28-21; MP: Central, 28-20.

College

Wesley (6-0, 6-1) at Montclair State (3-3, 3-4), 1 p.m.

The Wolverines go on the road in search of their seventh straight NJAC victory.       

AW: Wesley, 42-10; TM: Wesley, 38-13; BH: Wesley, 36-21; GF: Wesley, 34-18; MP: Wesley, 56-7.

Delaware State (1-4, 1-6) at North Carolina Central (3-1, 5-2), 2 p.m.

DSU is glad to have ended 17-game skid but that doesn’t make this challenge any easier.    

AW: NCC, 38-18               ; TM: NCC, 28-14; BH: NCC, 28-13; GF: NCC, 28-17; MP: NCC, 28-17.

Delaware (3-1, 5-2) at Towson (0-4, 2-5), 4 p.m.

Now that they’re in the NCAA playoff picture, Hens have to keep winning to stay there.       

AW: UD, 27-7; TM: UD, 31-14; BH: UD, 27-7; GF: UD, 28-14; MP: UD, 35-10.
