As the high school football season hits its fourth week of games, the Henlopen Conference begins its Northern and Southern Division matchups.

Here's our predictions for this weekend's downstate and local college football games.

 

Andy Walter, Delaware State News: 25-19

Tim Mastro, Delaware State News: 29-15

Ben Heck, Milford Chronicle: 24-20

Glenn Frazer, Radio 105.9: 25-19

Matt Pencek, WBOC-TV: 29-15

Friday

Cape Henlopen (2-1) at Smyrna (1-2)

Two-time champ Smyrna wants to prove that it’s still the team to beat in Henlopen North.  

AW: Smyrna, 36-21; TM: Smyrna, 48-21; BH: Cape, 28-24; GF: Smyrna, 36-20; MP: Smyrna, 32-20.

Polytech (2-1) at Caesar Rodney (2-1)

Polytech has never beaten CR but also never backs down from the challenge, either.            

AW: CR, 28-20; TM: CR, 21-20; BH: Polytech, 21-17; GF: CR, 28-27; MP: CR, 28-27.

Sussex Central (3-0) at Dover (1-2)

Dover would love to open its North slate by ending a three-year losing streak vs. Central.     

AW: Central, 27-14; TM: Central, 31-28; BH: Central, 24-10; GF: Central, 27-21; MP: Central, 34-28.

Lake Forest (1-2) at Caravel (1-2)

The Spartans don’t face an easy task as they try to get their record back to .500.    

AW: Caravel, 33-16; TM: Caravel, 28-8;   BH: Caravel, 34-24; GF: Caravel, 30-18; MP: Caravel, 35-16.

Delmar (2-1) at Indian River (1-2)

The Wildcats are ready to jump into their South slate after posting first shutout since 2015.

AW: Delmar, 42-13; TM: Delmar, 24-21; BH: Delmar, 34-21; GF: Delmar, 32-17; MP: Delmar, 35-17.

Seaford (2-0) at Milford (1-2)

Buccaneers looking to get season turned around after back-to-back tough losses.   

AW: Milford, 48-20; TM: Milford, 49-6; BH: Milford, 28-7; GF: Milford, 42-18; MP: Milford, 30-12.

Laurel (2-1) at Woodbridge (3-0)

Laurel gave the unbeaten Blue Raiders their toughest game of the season a year ago.          

AW: Wood, 23-14; TM: Wood, 35-20; BH: Wood, 31-14; GF: Wood, 28-20; MP: Wood, 42-22.

Saturday

College

Southern Virginia (0-4, 0-4) at Wesley (2-0, 2-1), 1 p.m.

Wolverines look to make it three wins in a row as they finally play their first home game.     

AW: Wesley, 35-0; TM: 42-14; BH: Wesley, 27-3; GF: Wesley, 49-20; MP: Wesley, 35-10.

James Madison (1-0, 4-0) at Delaware (0-0, 2-1), 3:30 p.m.

Blue Hens would love to challenge the No. 1 Dukes and their 16-game winning streak.         

AW: JMU, 35-14; TM: JMU, 31-14; BH: JMU, 38-21; GF: JMU, 24-20; MP: JMU, 28-13.
