MILFORD - Phyllis M. Minner passed away at Bayhealth Milford Memorial on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016. She was born in Milford on Jan. 19, 1927 to the late Lloyd V. and Mary Jane (Johnson) Armour. Phyllis was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Phyllis worked as a Registered Nurse at Milford Memorial Hospital for 38 years. After retirement, she stayed active with her colleagues and high school friends, often having lunch together. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, William D. Minner; and a brother, Donald Armour. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Jane M. Ward and her husband, James Jr. of Milford; sister, Beatrice Layton of Harrington; brother, Leslie Armour of Greenwood; and granddaughter, Rhonda Owens and husband James. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963 at 1:00 pm. A time of visitation prior to the funeral will be from 12 noon until 1 pm. Interment will be at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton. Flowers are accepted or memorial gifts can be mailed to Houston U.M. Church, P.O. Box 43, Houston, DE 19954.
