Phyllis A. Scorah

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Phyllis A. Scorah, 84 of North Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away to go be with her Lord on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 6:40 a.m. in The Hope Hospice Care Center of Cape Coral, Florida. Phyllis was born on Dec. 6, 1929, in Clayton, Del. to Howard and Ethel Pearce. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert B. Scorah; and her only surviving sibling, Bruce W. Pearce; as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, three sisters, Emma Van Dyke of Crompton, Md., Winnie Smith of Panama City, Fla., Gloria Newman of Crompton, Md.; and a brother, Haines Pearce of Smyrna, Del. Phyllis was engaged for 23 years prior to her marriage on Sept. 19, 1970 as she and her husband cared for their parents. She was a head cashier for 26 years at the Acme Grocery in Smyrna prior to their retirement to Florida. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, cooking, playing cards, getting in the pool, sitting in the sun, and visiting with her many friends. She was a member of St. Peters' Episcopal Church in Smyrna, the American Legion Auxiliary in Smyrna, and the Auxiliary of VFW Post 8801 in Clayton, Del. The Internment will be at a later date in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. In Memory of Phyllis Scorah, memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy, E. Cape Coral, FL 33909.
