Philip M. Moore

FELTON Philip M. Moore passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Philip was born on June 13, 1924 in Wilmington, Del., son of the late George and Adeline (Mitchener) Moore. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Philip had worked for the State of Delaware Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector. He was a member of the American Legion Fox Post #2 and a former member of the Odd Fellows, Felton. Besides his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Moore in 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Vera Timmons Moore; son, Philip G. Moore of Felton; grandson, Philip H. Moore of Hartly; and a sister, Mary Jane Davis of Calif. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Chapel, Millsboro where interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
