By Andy WalterDelaware’s first meeting with Penn State highlights the 2023 Blue Hen football schedule that was announced on Tuesday.
UD will play at Happy Valley on Sept. 9 as one of three non-conference contests on its 11-game slate.
The Hens’ other non-league games include home dates with St. Francis, Pa. and Duquesne. The St. Francis game will be a rematch of last year’s NCAA FCS playoffs, which Delaware won, 56-17.
The Hens are scheduled to open the season on Aug. 31 at Stony Brook in a Thursday night game. It will be the fourth time in the last six years that Delaware has opened the season against a CAA opponent.
Between Sept. 16 and Oct. 14, the Hens play four straight home games. They face new CAA members North Carolina A&T and Campbell for the first time.
The starting times will be announced at a later date.
