NEWARK — Delaware State Police are investigating a Saturday vehicle collision that killed a pedestrian.
Authorities said that, at approximately 9:13 p.m., a 40-year-old male from Newark was struck by a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling south on Polly Drummond Hill Road. The victim, who was walking in the road, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Identification is pending notification of kin.
The operator of the Jeep, a 47-year-old male from Newark, was properly restrained and not injured.
Though no other vehicles were involved, Polly Drummond Hill Road was closed for approximately four hours, while the collision was investigated.
