
MAGNOLIA - Patricia T. Maxwell, passed away Thursday Oct. 11, 2012 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mrs. Maxwell was born May 19, 1933 in Wilmington, Del. to the late Frank Tyrrell and Rose Keenan Tyrrell. She was the oldest of nine siblings. Mrs. Maxwell graduated from St. Peters High School in 1951. She married her husband George in 1954. She had worked as a secretary for Dupont Experimental Station. Prior to Dupont she had worked for Atlantic Research & Gates Engineering in Wilmington. She had also worked for Air Products Houdry Labs. While living in North Harbour, Indiana she was active in many community activities and was a member of the Indiana Transportation Museum. She enjoyed collecting antiques and green glassware. Mrs. Maxwell was known as "Miss Pat" to the neighborhood children both in Magnolia and Indiana. Mr. Maxwell would like to express special thanks to Mike & Joann, also to their Delaware Hospice Team, Donna, Maria, Kathy, Dorothy and Pastor Michael and the staff at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford for their compassionate care and the many neighbors for their support. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Maxwell of Magnolia; two sisters and six brothers, Charles Tyrrell of Jacksonville, Fla., Daniel Tyrrell and his wife Kass of New Castle, Del., Michael Tyrrell of Middletown, Del., Andrew Tyrrell of Rock Hall, Md., Kathleen Smallwood of Newark, Del., Peter Tyrrell and his wife Kathy of New Castle, Del., Lois Treut and her husband Stephen of Wilmington, Del., and James Tyrrell and his wife Kathy of Wilmington, Del. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, 19901. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10). Interment will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
