Patrice J. Mahon

DOVER - Patrice J. Mahon died Feb. 1, 2013. Born in Auburn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Cummins Mahon. She was a graduate of LeMoyne College and completed her graduate studies at Syracuse University. Ms. Mahon had served with the State of Delaware as a Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor retiring in 1997 and was a a faithful member of Holy Cross Church in Dover. Ms. Mahon was quite the traveler as she had sailed the seven seas and had traveled extensively throughout the seven continents. She enjoyed researching her trips and sampling the local culture and cusine. At the time of her death she was planning a Rhine River cruise. Of all her experiences she had expressed that her favorite adventure was an African Safari she had gone on. Ms. Mahon loved animals, particularly dogs, and enjoyed the time spent at the beach. She also enjoyed reading, movies, decorating for Christmas and following the stock market. She will be greatly missed by her godchildren, James Dunn, Leigh Weldin and Laura Askin. She is also survived by Jeff Swartwout of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jane Swartwout of Moravia, N.Y., along with a wide circle of friends to whom she showed great generosity and loyalty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church So. State St. Dover where a Visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn, NY. Life's End Services are by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director Inc. Dover. Condolences may be made via www.ambruso.com.
