LEWES — Kat Parsons is no ordinary singer-songwriter. The child of two professional musicians, the pianist and guitarist is known for her dramatic, evocative live performances. On Thursday the Los Angeles-based performer will bring her moving music to The Room at Cedar Grove in Lewes.
“Kat is a gifted artist, and we’re thrilled to bring her to coastal Delaware,” said local musician and chef Paul Cullen, who owns the dining and concert venue. “She a consummate performer with amazing stories to tell. I know our guests will love her.”
Ms. Parsons was born in Vienna, Austria. Her father was an opera singer, and her mother was a recording artist. Ms. Parsons album, “No Will Power,” was a runner-up for Album of the Year at the DIY Music Festival, and she was featured on the MTV program “Score.”
Ms. Parsons has toured or been on stage with such recording artists as Billy Corgan, Sarah Bareilles and Maria Muldaur.
The Room at Cedar Grove offers dinner and a show, and the performance will feature a multicourse dinner with complementary wines. Partial proceeds will benefit Paul Kares, the 501c3 that Cullen and Jim Rivette founded to support aspiring chefs and musicians.
The evening will start at 6:30 p.m., and the cost is $65. Visit here for tickets.
The Room at Cedar Grove has a regular roster of activities, including weekend brunch. It is adjacent to an Italian market with specialty items, including Cullen’s house-made sausages, balsamic vinegar and Uncorked and Unplugged wines. Visit the site for more information. Cullen is also available for in-home dining events that include a private concert.
