...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM EDT
FOR EASTERN HUNTERDON...MORRIS...SOUTHEASTERN SUSSEX...NORTHWESTERN
MERCER...SOMERSET...NORTH CENTRAL MONMOUTH...MIDDLESEX AND CENTRAL
BUCKS COUNTIES...
At 508 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Ogdensburg to Chester to near White House Station
to near New Hope, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. This line of storms
has a history of producing tree damage.
SOURCE...Law enforcement.
IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Morristown, Somerville, Newton, Somerset,
Edison, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, Bridgewater, South Brunswick,
Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret, Dover, Madison, Hopatcong,
Middlesex, Princeton, and Florham Park.
This includes the following highways...
New Jersey Turnpike between exits 9 and 12.
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 19 and 42.
Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 23 and 47.
Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 54.
Garden State Parkway between mile markers 119 and 133.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM EDT
FOR NORTHERN NEW CASTLE...SOUTHEASTERN CHESTER AND SOUTHWESTERN
DELAWARE COUNTIES...
At 511 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over West Grove, or
10 miles north of Newark, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
Wilmington, Newark, West Chester, Coatesville, Westtown, Elsmere,
Kennett Square, Parkesburg, West Grove, Newport, Arden, Stanton,
Cheyney, North Star, Talleyville, Elam, Marshallton, Pike Creek,
Chelsea, and Ashland.
This includes Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 11 and
22.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move
indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR WEST CENTRAL LANCASTER AND CENTRAL YORK COUNTIES...
At 513 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in East
Hempfield Township, West Hempfield Township and Columbia borough.
Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will
continue, but little additional rainfall is expected. Flooding is
already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by earlier thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Columbia, Mount Joy, East Petersburg, East York,
Stonybrook-Wilshire, Salunga-Landisville, Maytown, Mountville,
Hallam, Marietta, Wrightsville, Yorklyn, Rheems, Yorkana, East
Prospect, Washington Boro and Lancaster Airport.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL ALLEGHENY AND NORTHWESTERN WESTMORELAND
COUNTIES...
At 513 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported flooded roadways near Delmont.
Monroeville, Greensburg, McKeesport, Jeannette, Plum, Murrysville,
North Versailles, White Oak, Turtle Creek, Irwin, Pitcairn, Manor,
Trafford, Delmont, Wilmerding, East Mckeesport, Versailles, Export,
North Irwin and Wall.
