P. David DeMauro, 61 CRISFIELD - P. David DeMauro, of Crisfield for the past 23 years, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, in his home. He was 61. Born in Princeton, N.J. on September 27, 1948, he was a son of Edith Griffis DeMauro of Crisfield and the late Peter A. DeMauro, who died in 1989. He was a 1966 graduate of Hun School Prep in Princeton, N.J., and attended the University of Delaware for two years. He was a former land surveyor and also worked for a local tree surgeon company. David was an avid fencer who enjoyed competitive fencing and teaching. He also enjoyed playing lacrosse, was an equestrian dressage trainer, and loved to read. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his special friend, Nellie Sue Witt of Goochland, Va.; four siblings, Karen D. Murphy and her husband James R. Murphy of Severna Park, Dr. Michael DeMauro and his wife Delphine DeMauro of Savannah, Ga., Steven DeMauro and his companion, Monica Fieber of Garibaldi, Ore., and Marie Elizabeth Heal and her husband George Heal of Lincolnville, Maine; his nieces and nephews, Sean, Colleen and Brendan Murphy, Michael, Daniel, Holt and Blair DeMauro, Steve DeMauro Jr., and Nicholas Heal; and numerous other relatives. A Memorial Mass was Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Westover. Father William Porter officiated. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers, are requested to be sent to the Tawes Nursing Home New Building Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.
