NEW CASTLE - Oscar W. Adkins went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. Mr. Adkins was born Sept. 22, 1966 in Dover, Del., the son of the late Oscar Waters and Edith Adkins. Oscar enjoyed motorcycles, cooking, and most sports. He was also known for his poetry and drawings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Adkins; and two nephews, Kenji and Damian Adkins. He is survived by three children, Jordan, Steven, and Jared Adkins; his lifetime partner, Karen Ely; and four sisters, Vivian, Emma, Sharon, and Janell Adkins. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 27 S. Caesar Rodney Ave., in Camden, DE. Funeral services will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, DE. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
